"Kitsap Creative is a tiny story operation for finding the remarkable people quietly making things in Kitsap County.
Artists. Misfit inventors. Community organizers. Filmmakers. Woodworkers. Poets. Theatre people. Musicians playing to twelve people in coffee shops. The woman restoring old signs by hand. The teenager building robots in a garage. The retired fisherman writing songs nobodyβs heard yet.
Kitsap Creative exists to find them, sit down with them, and tell their stories.
The core format is simple:
Find an interesting creative person. Interview them. Write a thoughtful feature. Publish it. Share it with the community.
Stories may include simple photos, quotes, links, and occasional community notes, but the heart of the project is the written profile. The goal is not to produce glossy documentaries or complicated media packages. The goal is to create a steady rhythm of real stories about creativity, struggle, obsession, failure, experimentation, community, and why people keep making things anyway.
The tone should feel human, curious, and emotionally honest. More βsit down and tell me your storyβ than βpersonal brand optimization.β
To keep the project focused and sustainable, Kitsap Creative is designed as a guerrilla editorial operation with a very small team:
Editor / Editorial Lead
Guides the publication, chooses stories, shapes the voice, edits features, and protects the quality of the work.
Interviewer / Writer / Creative Scout
Finds interesting people, conducts interviews, writes drafts, gathers basic details, and helps uncover the hidden creative life of Kitsap.
Publishing / Web Support
Helps post stories, format pages, manage the website, prepare simple social/newsletter copy, and keep the workflow lightweight.
Long term, Kitsap Creative could become both a publication and a living network that helps creative people in Kitsap discover one another, collaborate, and rally around meaningful projects."
